Art of Murder: 12 gauge facelift

The AoM boys toss us three tracks of somewhat deathier material on the “12 gauge face-penis” demo. Right from the get-go, spastic shredding, full-auto drumming and brown-note inducing bass rub up against slower grooves giving an “old-school” feel to this demo.
The vocals are more mid-ranged this time around and don’t sound bad at all while the guitars pack a mean crunch. I still wish the guitars themselves would be clearer and have a more vicious tone. Bass is always audible with AoM and it definitely adds some power to the riffs.
The overall sound is raw and ugly and that’s totally the point with Art of Murder. These guys are going for chaos and they do it pretty well. In fact, just when you think they are about to fuck everything up, they pull it back together just to do it again and they don’t give a shit and don’t apologize for it. I like that attitude.
