Art of Murder: Grind, Torture, KillArt of Murder: Grind Torture Kill

25/11/06  ||  Global Domination

This review was written by ex-staffer/cocksmoker Goiter.

This is where the secret love affair between myself and AoM drummer, Freddy “the beast” Andersson, began. We still send each other sideways cock-shots and reminisce about the “old days” when our love was just blossoming.

Actually, “love” isn’t the word here. Respect is. Freddy has been cool as fuck to me, even hooking me up with all 3 demos in cd format at his own expense. That is fucken god-damned cool as fuck and earns a special place in my heart for Art of Murder and their chaotic brand of grindcore. The “Grind, Torture, Kill” demo doesn’t differ too greatly from the “FUBAR” and “12 gauge facelift” demo/promo, other than the fact that this one came first and has the coolest title out of the three, obviously a play on the BTK killer’s catch-phrase.

The music itself is bordering on sloppy but never quite reaches that status. There is a method to this madness. The sample at the beginning of “The Devil in me” always makes me laugh, and I can’t explain why. The songs are short, grindy, with a little splash of groove. I like it. I wish these guys had access to better production but I wouldn’t want them to lose any of that special chaotic charm, so I take it for what it is… it is grind, it is good.

You can find out for yourself at their website where they have all tracks from all three releases available for download, just follow the link below. Ain’t that fucken nice? Sure it is, now send these guys your money.
