Are you ready to party like it’s 1998? Do you really wish Coal Chamber was still around? Do you like wearing black lipstick, gargantuan jeans that swallow up your feet, and dreadlocks?
Yeah, me neither.
CubPenis, on the other hand, seem to have a giant soft spot for late 90’s douche-metal. Their music could be mistaken for any number of turd-peddling nu-metal bands from the formative era of that most reviled subgenre of metal.
The guitars are down-tuned. The riffs are simple and repetitive. The vocalist sounds like a fat kid with eyeliner who is angry because his mom took away his Slipknot shirt. There are a couple of wannabe Meshuggah semi-tech moments. The drummer is not incompetent and the production is decent. Really, why polish a turd though?
Avoid unless you’ve got an obscene late 90’s radio-metal fetish.
