One month until the release, it should prolly be leaked in a little while so I'm starting this topic now. When you have gotten your hands (illegal or not) on it, we'd appreciate to hear your opinions on what we consider to be nothing short but a masterpiece, which it actually is.
Rant away as soon as you heard it.
And only then. _________________

Since i got the chance to hear this album for about 27 times now according to my iTunes play counter before any of you fuckers had a chance to take a sniff at it, i can only say:
This is an fucking awesome and evil album to say the least.
The production is all top notch, it is a little bit more dry and crisp compared to the erlier albums wich suits this music perfectly since all the elements will break thru in the mix. And there is MUCH elements here... (Poor Dan S.)
The songs are awesome as usual (Dare i say the best TPH has done so far)... They are long ass pieces that needs to be listened to a couple of times before you get the shit straight. The best song is with out a doubt "Annihilation of all that is holy". _________________ Så kan det gå, snickarjävel. |

Haven´t heard the entire album yet, but I must say that the tunes I heard at J´s place were absolutely mind-boggling. The difference in production between HDCE and AME is very clear. And though I didn´t think that the difference in production between AME and IHMN would be notable, it´s there. For the better. It´s definately clear that this shit has been worked with hate, love and passion for countless of hours.
I can´t say much more at the moment. Have to wait until the album is in my hands. Or CD-player. But I´m so looking forward to it it´s rediculous |

Well... I've just finished the first spin of "In Hora Mortis Nostrae" on the crappy "Clas Ohlson"-stereo in my office (fortunately I'm alone today). What can I say... WOW! This is truly a masterpiece that will take some time getting in to. Almost silly to post an opinion after having listened to it just once.... I just want to rub it in the face of those who are yet to receive their discs.
A natural development from AME, more complex and more (dare I say?) progressive but with all the brutality intact. Some people has voiced concerns that the guitars would be too low mixed - have no fears, I'd say they are just right. Brutal and heavy without drenching all the other stuff that is going on in the background (which is a lot).
And K, you really weren't kidding about "The Innocence Of The Three-Faced Saviour" - the best bits were left out. A truly massive piece of muzak.
I can't wait to get home and play this in my real stereo with a proper pair of headphones....
By the way K, no worries. If this baby ends up on the Net it won't be by my doing. |

For all that is evil and unholy in this world - This is not possible!
I'm sitting here CRYING listening to 'Crawling through the infinite fields of carnage'. Jo's "solo" part at 3.20 is the most beautiful thing I've heard coming from her. The mosh part when Knot sings 'Piles of skulls...' (same song) is massive and I want more of it! The guitar work? Holy fuck, the solo/twin guitars in the middle of the song is bound for glory eternal.
No doubt - This IS the best shit the band has put out, hands down.
I'll post a full review asap, I just had to share this right away. _________________ Madcap Piktures - Me @ MySpace - www.Ghostnail.com |

Oh man...I dont know where to start.....
First of all...this is a masterpice. You have to listen to it.
It starts with a fucking fist in your face (Like Ame).
The first track is totaly awsome, it has everything and more.
Jörgen is so fucking powerfull. I had always thought that no one can have a better death vocal then Micke Åkerfeltd (Opeth) and Dan Swanö, but now Jörgen are going staight up to the top. So much wonderful darkness and hate.
And Jonna makes all the hate so fucking wonderful. Everytime i listen to the first track, 3 min into it, when she starts to sing, Im getting "gåshud" (goose pimples). Her vocals is just amazing.
She has a little different vocal in the third track, that I like very much.
And the music is so fucking dark and hateful, but still I can hear very nice melodys here and there.....Good work!
The "drum 'n bass" drums are still there. The makes a very good sound into the musik (me like ). Is it Mojjo playing this, or is it made on you computer K?
And don't forget Swanö for the awsome mixing.... Everything is melting together perfectly.
I just want to thank you all for the best album this century.
And btw....you were right K....It´s sounds so much better on cd instead of mp3.
(Sorry for my bad english, I hope it is readable) |

| listening to "For Our Name Is Chaos Eternal" at 3:30 and I tell you.. Nothing has made me cry like this since "Godslaughtering Murder Machine" at 4:10. I don't know what to say, really. Words can't explain how great this album is! |

I have listen to the CD the entire weekend and read the lyrics and it´s hard to find word to explain this masterpiece...
For now my favourite is Crawling Through The Infinite Fields Of Carnage.
That song gives me a feeling in my stomach...
When Jonna sing : And so we die alone in pain, my heart stop for a second because she´s singing so beautiful and the lyrics are so painful...at least to me. _________________ "I am Pride, I am Envy

I have cleaned up this topic. I'll say it again, I want you to post in here when you heard the album. I don't need any posts in here saying you will comment when you hear it, I'm sure we'll notice.
So, talk about the album when you have heard it, and only then. Can't be too fucken hard to understand this, huh? _________________

Nice that you noticed, that is one of my favourite passages on the entire album. The lyrics are painful, yes.. This album has alot of everything. Pain is no exception.

Ok, here goes after one lap in my CD player:
First of all: Having goosebumps for an hour kick ass. I wanna thank you guys for that.
1. Annihilation of all that is holy
Opens like a punch in the face. Love the synth part.
Jo outdoes herself on this one. I love you.
Love the breakbeats.
2. Crawling through...
The piano part 3 minutes in followed by Jo. DRA KUKEN I GRUSET!
J does a solid effort here, in the past the growls of TPH hasn't been the thing making me go Wow, but so far, Hora seems to change that.
Forget what I said about Jo's effort on track #1. She kicks her own ass on this one.
3. Serenades of rotten flesh
Doesn't hit me as hard as the two first ones did.
I do like the guitar riffs though
Loving the synths around 5:20
Mojjo kicks ass in the end.
4. For our name is chaos eternal
The way this starts I'm half expecting to be hit in the face with a hammer. And the hammer is delivered. Wonderful.
The guitars during the slow part is gut wrenchingly (if that is an actual word) beautiful. And again, the "techno drums"...and what a sweet fucking surprise at the end.
5. Tears down the walls of heaven.
Mighty intro! Massive is probably the correct word. And it goes on! Fuck me sideways. I was not expecting this.
Not your ususal TPH song but absolutely brilliant.
I'm feeling that J is more "visible" on this album and I love it (or is it that I just haven't paid much attention in the past?)
6. And damnation is forced upon the weak.
Well. This is a masterpiece of a song. I'm realising I will need to hear the other songs a couple of times more before fully appreciating 'em. This one makes that clear. Still hearing new awesome stuff in this one every time i hear it.
7. The innocense...
K. You are a true bastard. And I mean this in the best way possible. I'm laughing out loud when comparing this with the edit.
Love the bass in this song.
The piano is beautiful.
So. I don't know. these are my first impressions. Probably just incoherent rambling, but I have been waiting for this album for so long and the teasers have fucked me up over the last couple of weeks.
I need to calm down and listen through it a couple more times. One thing I am definately willing to say already: In hora mortis nostrae is the best metal album ever released.
The songwriting is first grade.
The album is classic TPH but with all the good elements turned up to 11.
...and I think I'm falling in love with Jo. |

Oh, just so you know, in case you didn't notice. I edited the title of this topic yesterday. For the sole reason that if you feel like talking about the album when you heard it - do it in here. And the second reason, if you stumble upon some reviews somewhere, put the links in here.

Aaand im done with the first spin now, and totally exhausted :D
I'm a bit floored atm, there is just so many things i want to mention I dont know how to start.
Artwork as I already said is 10/10, and I do think these are the best lyrics TPH ever had. Some of them are made for being satanic slogans (not gonna write any, no spoiling here).
Everyone knows by now that both singers are top-notch, but I think this album really shows more of what Jonna can do with her voice. Its friggin wonderful.
( I just need her to meet me here in GBG so I can get the last signature on my album *hint hint*)
If J was a transformer, he'd be a wrecking machine. With a machinegun. And big-ass knives on it. Thats how good he is.
This album has one thing I've been longing for with TPH. MORE TECHNO BITS! And they appear in the songs in the best ways possible, and all programming is 10/10. Choirs! holy hell!
Crap, already forgot the song name haha. But it had the coolest ending ever, which made me go "what the" in the living room. awesome.
I need to go listen again now, I had the surround set on Movie, going for Music now!
Album of the year/decade! |

I'm pretty speechless right now, you guys all really delivered on this one. This has to be Swano's finest work as well. Can't wait to hear the real CD in my "good" headphones. I love how Mojjo sounds on this, what an asset.
And Jo... I hate to say this, but I never in a million years thought she could sound like she does on this, and I mean that in a good way. She really brought the fucken fury. _________________ The Mechanical Tiger |
