I know that this subject has been discussed earlier, there’s even been a thread up that recently got taken down. However, when it comes to the possibility of getting to play one of The Project Hate’s songs on, at least, ‘Rock Band’ has recently greatly been improved. The makers behind the game ‘Rock Band’ have been working on a feature called ‘Rock Band Network’, and it’s basically a set of tools that lets you upload fully charted tracks to the game, as long as you have the rights to the music itself, and even make money in the process. That’s right, you guys earn money from every single song that gets sold on RBN.

Following artists are a couple of the ‘extreme metal acts’ that are featured in the game already. Just thought I’d let you know, so you don’t think that ‘Rock Band’ purely exists of ‘No Doubt’, ‘Beatles’ and ‘The Who’. Even if that, sadly, isn’t far from the truth.

Thing is that we are already supposed to be a part of this and Vic Records and these guys have made a contract of some sorts that is about to be signed as far as I know.

Very good for TPH, without a doubt, if this crap happens that is.

On a side note, when I play Rock Band (seeing as that's the only way I'll ever be able to feel somewhat like a rockstar) I usually tackle the vocal parts. So for me, the vocal parts on TPH songs would be the main attraction Mr. Green

The game has a pretty hardcore fanbase so I wouldn't write them off quite yet, but you may be right. But we've always been an minority, so how would this be any different? The vast majority of people are fucktards anyway who don't appreciate good music Wink

This is great news; would it show up ha kick ass Hate-song in Rockband, I might even consider getting myself a gaming console capable of playing that particular game Wink

I'm gessing it's too early to hope for a answer to this now, but do you know what song it would be/do you have any input as to which song it will be, etc.

And finally - if a song would actually gain entrance to this game, would you be willing to "cut" the song shorter, a excerpt if you will, to fit the common song length of the game or similar? Where would you draw the line between whoring to get you music out to the great grey crowd of the masses, and keeping the integrity of the song?

Sitra: I wouldn't give a fuck about cutting the tune if (most definitely) needed. Fuck should I care about that for? We have done it with "Innocence" before, it's not like it's crucial to me. I'm sure some of the more electronic based parts need to go simply becoz you have no use for electronic 2 minutes breaks in a game like Rock Band where you play guitar, bass, vocals or drums, huh?

And about what song - I have absolutely no idea. I will start thinking about that as soon as this deal comes together - if it does.

I thought about mentioning this a while back but wasn't sure if you'd be interested.

The thing that is required is an "authorized author", or basically someone who has been officially trained by Harmonix on how to translate music to notes for the game.

www.scorehero.com, which is one of the most popular sites for discussing the games and tracking scores, has such an authoring group. I can get you more info if needed and/or interested.

Looking forward to playing some TPH songs on RB. Probably would need some of the older, shorter songs, or massively edited...but singing along with J would be awesome. There is no Ibanez plastic guitar though, haha... Mr. Green

The only thing that, to me, possibly could take down this deal is the lyrical subjects that TPH base their music on. According to the guidelines for submitting music, I'm pretty sure that you can't submit anything that a majority of people could find offensive (i.e. sexist, racial, religious etc.). But I'm no way near sure about this. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Have you heard anything about the lyrical content being 'in the way' for guys, K?

I know as much about this as you do. I have asked Vic for some info but can't say they have much to say except for the contract being sent. I seriously don't think they would have contacted us and wanted us a part of this if they didn't already listen to the lyrics and know what we stand for. The guy who wrote us said he was a fan and that's why he wanted us in this in the first place.
