I use what's inside Cubase by default together with a million of Reason Refills (with Reason 5) and Symphobia 1 & 2. I also use a lot of sound effects from fucken everywhere, distorting them and so forth until it sounds nothing like the original sound.

...and that's what happens when death metalheads listen to too much Prodigy.
Not that I don't love it, mind you, that sentence just reminded me of them cause that's pretty much all they do.

Everyone seems to talk a lot about Reason when it comes to synth materials; is the difference huge?/what are the differences, if you don't mind typing that much.

You do know that The Prodigy are one of my absolute fave bands, huh? Was hooked from the second I heard "Experience". So, thanx for the compliment, or something, haha...
Maverick: Reason is fucken phenomenal really, and I have been using it for many, many years. I don't really know much about Cubase, I just look for sounds I dig. And yes, Halion is something I use every now and then (that much I know), but there's ton of other stuff there as well, of course.

Just to make sure you understand my love for The Prodigy... Back in 1994 we recorded the Leukemia/Lame album "Love". In the opener, "Emotionally dead", there's a very obvious The Prodigy theft in the middle of the tune. We did this becoz I was hoping that The Prodigy would hear it one day and sue my ass so I would get to meet them, haha...

Haha, yeah... Nowadays it shouldn't be a problem. I'll make sure to hand them that song anyways, if it ever happens, and tell them the story. Liam Howlett's always been a huge influence of mine.
