Here you go, enjoy the read
Where could I possibly begin reviewing this album? Rarely did I receive such a complex musical document on my plate as with the latest album of Sweden’s ‘The Project Hate MCMXCIX’. Seven songs, each with an average length nearing the nine minute mark and such an elaborate cohesion of styles and genres it could drive a man insane. But above all ‘The Lustrate Process’ is very good.
It’s a difficult task to categorise the music. Every track can be viewed as a musical rollercoaster. It borders on melodic death, industrial, grindcore, progressive and symphonic metal and thrash. Fast, aggressive segments with brutal grunts alternate with laid back segments featuring female vocals. Prime example of this would be the song ‘You Come To Me Through Hell’. It starts off with razorsharp riffing and grunts to transfer into the beauty that is Jonna Enckell’s voice.
The individual members already have an impressive resumé featuring, among others, Entombed and Grave. However, this didn’t stop them from opening a whole can of guest performers. To name a few, L.G. Petrov (Entombed), Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth) and our own Martin van Drunen (H.O.B., ex/Pestilence) all grunt along happily and Mike Wead (King Diamond, Mercyful Fate) plays along on his guitar. All of this lifts the whole to new and greater heights.
The only possible issue might be the album’s appeal. This is some heavy listening. ‘The Lustrate Process’ isn’t your average easy-listening album. Due to the varying structures, lengths of the tracks and the overall complexity of the music this is an album you need to sit down for and absorb. And when you’re done you repeat the above. You can listen through the entire album in just over an hour but you will need several spins before you’ve completely dissected and unraveled the album. This is however something I can recommend to every devotee.

Here's another one.
I don't have time to translate it, but there isn't a single bad remark in it, and the author uses the last paragraph to stress that TLP is complete, strong, full of inspiration and never boring. |

| Quote: | The Project Hate MCMXCIX - The Lust Rate Process
Vic Records, 2009 Vic Records, 2009
The Project Hate MCMXCIX is a Swedish metal band formed in 1999 with other Jörgen Sandström (Entombed), since the debut in 2000 is difficult to categorize it. The death metal influences are clearly audible, but the band has enough at home to take excursions to the prog and industrial. The latest album, The Lust Rate Process is a perfect example. The band knows the ten years that is able to throw high, not only with the varied sound, but also the fact that the brutal nature of the band mixed with the voice of Swedish oorstrelende clean Jonna Enckell, a woman who, in addition The Project Hate also has a solo project on hold after.
Lust In The Rate Process, you will find seven tracks, which together account for more than an hour of music. None of these seven songs, which are often longer than eight minutes are boring. This is because every song a journey through different metal genres is, different instruments and voices a place that gives each characterized by its own character. Opener Descend Into the Eternal Pits of Possession is hier een perfect voorbeeld van. Opener Descending Into the Eternal Pits of Possession is a perfect example. The song starts with a rattling basintro the whole number will boom. When the sharp and cruel nature aanzwelt slow guitar and together with the tight bass and drums growing lead to a dissipation of metal, is suddenly the soft voice of Jonna Enckell. Wat een verrassing, wat een verademing! What a surprise, what a relief! Even later, the turn of Jörgen Sandström for his Grunts in the horrible music strong throw. His song consists of deep bell Grunts and screams, but also open and clean vocals, which are never wrong place and always something to contribute to The Lust Rate Process. In addition to the permanent occupation of this band have a number of big names involved in the creation of The Lust Rate Process. Ik noem Martin van Drunen (oa Pestilence , Asphyx , Hail of Bullets ), Johan Hegg ( Amon Amarth ), LG Petrov ( Entombed ), Christian Älvestam (ex- Scar Symmetry ) en nog veel meer. I mention Martin van Drunen (including Pestilence, Asphyx, Hail of Bullets), Johan Hegge (Amon Amarth), LG Petrov (Entombed), Christian Älvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry) and much more.
One moment is The Lust Rate Process calm, gentle and an oasis of calm, the other an explosion of force, violence and hatred. Philipson provides additional piano in the mix and orgelklanken and The Project Hate MCMXCIX still a little extra depth. There is much to hear, to experience and discover The Lust Rate Process, which is one thing that is established after the first, as the tenth listen. Although guitarist Anders Bertilsson usually plays sharp and fiery rhythms, he is not a dirty fight of his arms to the fore to save it. Also flaming or strong guitar intro's, like The Locust Principles, there is no shortage. The Project Hate MCMXCIX is not only the above-described metal. Hier en daar sluipen er namelijk industrial fragmenten de nummers in, waarvan het einde van Descend Into the Eternal Pits of Possession een leuk voorbeeld is. Here and there creep in the industrial fragments songs in which the end of the Descending Into Eternal Pits of Possession is a good example. The number is quietly being phased out with tight drums, assisted by electronics and guitar, with gusts as reminiscent of superior electronics acts as Juno Reactor and Don Davis. Een ander sterk voorbeeld is het sfeermakende middenstuk van See the Filth Become Flames in this Furnace , dat enkele keren herhaald wordt, versterkt met de dromerige zang van Jonna Enckell. Another strong example is the atmosphere-making center of Filth Become See the Flames in this Furnace, which is repeated several times, enhanced by the dreamy vocals of Jonna Enckell.
If after reading the above paragraphs is not yet clear that The Lust Rate Process a full, strong and inspiratievol musical work, I here repeat. The Project Hate MCMXCIX, on their latest album each band face that is in balance, but also the unique and space to herself. In addition, each number is stoneware in each other, and whether it is seven or thirteen minutes, is never bored.

The Project Hate MCMXCIX – The Lustrate Process
Vic Records, 2009
The Project Hate MCMXCIX is a Swedish metal band founded in 1999 featuring among others Jörgen Sandström (Entombed) and ever since their debut in 2000 this band has been hard to categorise. The death metal influences are clearly there, yet this band is able enough to venture into the realms of prog and industrial. Their latest album, The Lustrate Process is a perfect example of this. In their ten years of existence the band never failed to amaze, not just through the variation of their sound, but also by blending the brutal character of the band with the mesmerizing voice of Swedish beauty Jonna Enckell who has a project of her own besides The Project Hate.
The Lustrate Process contains seven songs in total, altogether worth well over an hour of music. None of these seven songs, often over eight minutes in length, turn bland or dull. This is because every song is a journey through several metal genres, various instruments and the character of the voices, each given their own space. A prime example of this would be the opener Descend Into The Eternal Pits Of Possession. The song kicks off with a rattling bass intro that relentlessly pummels on through the song. As soon as the sharp and vicious guitars slowly move in along with the tight bass and swelling drums you’re expecting to be blown away by full throttle metal, only to be pleasantly surprised by the soft voice of Jonna Enckell! Mere moments later it’s Jörgen’s turn to add his grunts to the brutally powerful mix. His vocals consist of deep grunts and shrill screams, but also clean and open vocals which are never out of place and always contribute to the whole of The Lustrate Process. (Note by Long: the clean part here might be interpreted as beautiful since the writer lives near the Flemish border) Along with the usual band members several metal celebrities have made their contribution to The Lustrate Process. Celebrities such as Martin van Drunen (ex-Pestilence, Asphyx,H.O.B.), Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth), L.G. Petrov (Entombed), Christian Älvestam (ex-Scar Symmetry) and many others.
One moment The Lustrate Process is calm, gentle and peaceful, the next it’s an explosion of power, violence and hatred. Lord K. Phillipson spices up the mix by adding piano and organ sequences, thereby adding even more depth. There is a lot to hear, experience and discover on The Lustrate Process, something that’s as evident on the first spin as it is on the tenth. Even though guitarist Anders Bertilsson generally plays sharp and angry rhythms, he doesn’t shy away of taking his axe and stepping into the forefront. This means there is plenty of fiery guitar action going on along with amazing intro’s, with the locust principals a great example. However, The Project Hate has more to it than just the metal described above. Every now and then an industrial sequence pops up, with the outro of Descend Into The Eternal Pits Of Possession serving as a good example. The song is finished up nicely with tight drums supported by electronics and guitars, which at times reminds one of superb techno-acts such as Juno Reactor or Don Davis. Another good example is atmosphere enhancing middle of See The Filth Become Flames In This Furnace, which is repeated a number of times, amplified by Jonna Enckell’s dreamy voice.
After reading the above it should be obvious that The Lustrate Process is a complete, powerful and inspired piece of music. The Project Hate MCMXCIX balances out every facet of their sound on their latest release while leaving enough space to be unique and true to themselves. Besides that every song is put together extremely well, and whether it’s a seven or a thirteen minute song boredom or blandness never sets in. |

Judging by the score the reviewer seemed to like it, but reading the review, you wouldn't guess it. That's gotta be one of the strangest reviews I've ever read. Then again. I haven't actually heard the album myself, and the review doesn't make me want to rush out and get it. Luckily, going by the few reviews I've seen (I don't want to spoil the experience of hearing it for the first time too much) they're a lot more positive that this one. _________________ |

Here's the 'Aardschok' review to all of you non-dutchies... in english of course for your convenience btw, K, i already translated the middle one in your list
TLP was in the top ten album list for this month with 76/100 as an average out of 8 reviewers. the one who eventually wrote the review, a man named Metal Mike, gave it 88/100. enjoy...
[REVIEW]
Ever since their debut album 'Cybersonic Superchrist I've been a fan of The Project Hate MCMXCIX. The monster that was created by Lord K. Philipson, Jörgen Sandström and Jonna Enckell in 2000 is as overwhelming on their sixth effort as it was on their debut. The project, that continues to use a great deal of guest musicians, has grown into a true band. The bombastic metal, divided into seven songs that total well over an hour, is more colourful thanks to the services of Mike Wead ( Mercyful Fate, King Diamond). The mix by Dan Swanö is simply amazing. If the Apocalypse ever needed a soundtrack then it would be 'The Lustrate Process'.
[/REVIEW]
Its short, but it's good
Maybe you should do an interview with the guy K. He seems to like you guys |

well, she isn't... (don't worry, sarcasm noted )
didn't want to correct the obvious mistakes, since anyone browsing these forums probably knows the real deal. besides, he didn't get the MCMXCIX hint either... the guy calls himself Metal Mike... (though he's probably one of the most respected editors in chief in the netherlands ) |

the afore mentioned interview, translated by google....
| Quote: | For over ten years, The Project Hate MCMXCIX the epitome of brutal and aggressive death metal. Nevertheless, from an initial three to six later band members gloomy combo from Sweden a very own style, which is certainly to their genre is unique. Raw herausgebrüllte lyrics, mixed with just the right portion of ohrenschmeichelnden groove elements and melodic Goth romance - with this recipe TPH have a unique niche created. For her last work "In Hora Mortis Nostra" (2007) the band had a whole collection of guest musicians hired to their sound that certain something to give. But sometimes less is more, and the result was rather unsatisfactory, and the songs are weak and jaded.
For her latest disc, "The Lust Rate Process" had to be her fresh ingredients, and this was the seal of quality scrutinized. The successful entry into the album immediately, with a force hammering Intro whose pace even the deft finger guys from Apocalyptica would pale. From the first until the last song, the focus of the album on variations and consistency. Project Hate to put no more experimental elements, but on melodic accompaniment and sound, straddling riffs, the fantastic contrast to the almost primitive-looking animal cruelty, which vocalist Jörgen Sandström from full throttle herausschreit. Jo Enckels soft, almost innocent singing deposits do not contribute as much to this.
Successfully applied the Yin-Yang concept is not limited only to the vocal performance on instrumental level follow thrilling guitar riffs, soft piano passages and totally unexpected change often beat each other so quickly that it is necessary to listen to the album several times, to put it in its full intensity exercise. Guitarist Lord K. (Philipson) and Anders Bertilsson, which replaces Petter S. Freed, together surpass all expectations, while Thomas Ohlsson (replacement for Daniel "Mojjo" Moilanen) on drums to ensure that all the creativity flowing through the synchronicity of the songs maintained.
As guest musicians were, inter alia, Project Hate WEAD Mike (King Diamond, Mercyful Fate), Pär Fransson (Carnal Grief) and Johan Hegge (Amon Amarth) to win the sound of the band does not alienate, but to those previously unattained heights infernal drive and yet the true authenticity of the tape.
Project Hate, but also Death Metal fans in search of fresh originality of this album is strongly connected to heart. All songs powerful and compact, almost no breathing space is literally insane in a series of gentle melodies and crunching the highlights.
The sixth studio album of the six was Sweden in March this year and appears ready to produce on 6 July 2009 on the label Vic Records. "The lust Rate Process" is an epic masterpiece of high quality, which is really no one should miss. |
