Null: I have actually already played with the idea of letting you guys who donated to make this album a reality the chance of getting the whole album instrumental as well. Just becoz there's so much you'll discover if you only listen to the music without vocals. This was meant as a surprise for later on, but since you already mentioned it I might as well reveal what I might do when the album is done. I know alot of you guys would appreciate an instrumental version as well with the "real one". We'll see what happens down the road. I might change my mind, then again - I might not, haha...
And thanx for the compliments. _________________

An instrumental version would be really cool. The "real" version of course is the full album in its completion, but having an instrumental is great for picking out different things in the mix, like you said. I hope you don't change your mind |

An instrumental version would be fucking great; not that I don't like Jorgen's growls (Hell, I LOVE it!) but as was said listening to the pure genius behind the music is always a plus in my book _________________ Wulf

Yes, I thought people would appreciate a bonus thing such as an instrumental version to go with the real recording. We'll see what happens with it eventually. _________________

While other bands have kicked the bucket for more trifling issues than being unsigned, you kick-start the TPH Donation Experiment to massive success and persist in giving a new meaning to “fan interaction”.
I applaud you. |

Thank you so much, K. I really feel sorry that I ruined the surprise.
I remember some time ago I have listened to AME for several months on a regular basis (like 2-4 hours each day), and then once I was so astonished when I actually noticed that beutiful moody guitar melody that is playing along to the rhythm guitars and is "masked" behind Jo's vocals at 2:52 - 3:11 in "At the entrance to hells unholy fire"... I was just speechless. Really spechlees - I have listened to that song a huge number of times and have never noticed that guitar melody. That was the moment when I really started wishing I could listen to the instrumental versions of TPH songs, because there's so much I have missed on, there is so much that is left unnoticed and unheard, despite the numerous, numerous listens.
So, please, K, don't change your mind on releasing the intrumentals... |

I just had to go listen to that part after reading your post, cause I had no idea what you were talking about. What the fuck, you're right. _________________ Apparently the "Dangertits" guy is joking.

Null and Darxan: That is exactly what I am talking about when I say there's so much to discover with the music I make for TPH. It took you some good amount of years to discover that little detail, can you imagine how many things you yet have to hear, though you thought you already knew the music on said album? If you pay attention, you will be rewarded - that's what I have been saying all the time...
And Null, you didn't spoil any surprise. I could have simply kept my mouth shut about what I had in mind, but it didn't feel lie the biggest secret so that's why I commented on it. And seriously, I think you can actually expect an instrumental version to go with the "real" one. As mentioned, I had already planned it that way.
Cheers. _________________

I actually took notice of that guitar for the first time two days ago without reading this post. Driving back home nostalgia drew upon me and so I put on what I thought was one of the most epic of TPH's tunes, but this time I was like, "Wait...is that a guitar in the background? It sounds almost like humming..."
As for the instrumental version...couldn't wish for better news. Can't wait for the new album. The teaser shows a similar atmosphere to BTNA, but one of the concerns I had was that this new album would sound too similar to it due to the short time period in between writing them. Listening to the tune, though, this certainly is not the case as it sounds like nothing I heard on BTNA. I must say it's really nice, though. Thanks for all the updates, K. _________________ "Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Reading your comments on an instrumental version made me realize something:
You should never, ever, return to a label with TPH. It is your baby and seeing you have full control over your brain-spawn is a joy to behold.
TPH is something I am willing to pay for again and again. |

Now that's what I call a good idea. Prepare for the TPH Karaoke!
And as soon as I'm back home, I have to listen "At the entrance..." to see if I have missed this part too. _________________ Tsparacus Cspartaus Rspatacus Asprtacus |

As long as the Haters can raise the funds for what I need to create TPH, I see no reason to ever be on a label again. I can't fund it myself. I just can't. I am not making money on this, I pay far more than I get in return, the CD is dead and I believe what we have created here with The Donation is fucken groundbreaking. And yes, I like to be this much in control and do everything according to myself and no involvement from a label. I simply do not care about the business anymore. It can go fuck itself. I just wanna create music.

Trust me, this sounds TPH all the way, but there's a lot of stuff that will surprise you. That, I am sure of. It is a continuation of "BTNA", absolutely, but this is on another level. You will see.
Again, thanx for all the kind words and your input in general. It is very rewarding to me. _________________
