Abaddon Incarnate: Dark crusade
08/06/07 || Global Domination
This review was written by ex-staffer/cocksmoker Kampfar:
When I feel like shit I’ve got two options, listen to something like Anathema and feel like killing myself or listen to something ala Abaddon Incarnate and feel like killing someone else. I prefer the latter. I’m going to make the fucking headlines.
“Dark crusade” is a great album if you have some anger to spend, I’m sure it has spared societies around the world for a couple of murders already. Just like on “Nadir”, they turn the intensity, chaos, fury and bile to 11 from the very start. I fucking love it. Listening to this album is like being asphalted by a 10 ton bulldozer, not sure if I got the weight right.
Chaos is the undisputed champion on “Dark crusade” but there is more structure on this nastiness than on the monster preceding it. You have to be like me to hear that of course, fucked up. I think it’s a job well done to add more structure while still sounding like the aftershock of big bang, god’s very own ejaculation. Another positive aspect is that they didn’t end up making two identical records. Yet again, fucked up.
Those who aren’t familiar with the band would probably like to know what the venom of the Irish consist of. The answer is simple: dirt, grind and death metal. Every fucking member of this band gives it all they got, all the time. It wouldn’t be worth shit if they didn’t pull together, but let me ensure you, they could drag a train up a steep hill with this effort.
A thousand a years ago we kicked Irish ass but with all the male cunts calling themselves Norwegians these days this band could probably kill half of us. If they don’t start on the island I live, of course.
8.5 slayers of degenerated vikings out of 10.
