Abscess: Horrorhammer

You know you’re on the train to fucken Hollywood with an album named “Horrorhammer”. Tons of fucken brains entered the discussion in that band meeting.
“Hey guys, what’s metal and tough? I totally just remembered we need an album title!”
“Uh…”
(45 minutes pass. Perhaps some multiple bong hits and Halo games)
“Horrorhammer! It has two tough metal words put together!”
“HOORAY! LET’S ALL FELCH EACH OTHER NOW!”
So that’s how THAT part of the album bullshit went down. How the music portion of this thing went down… I can only imagine is five times the nightmare.
Unfortunately this is just one fat load of donkey cock. The instruments sound terrible, the songs are written with the skill reminiscent of an 8th grade Chemical Romance-inspired band, and it has, bar NONE, the worst fucking leadguitar playing I’ve ever heard. No doubt these fucken “leads” would cause hair to grow back on Satriani’s head.
These guys must be jokesters, no way around it. I don’t even get the joke and neither will you. “When Witches Burn?”, “Hellhole”... For the love of eight blue ducks, come on. Just TRY! Try harder.
Between the Sabbath-rip off dumb riffs and some silly black metal, face-painted (no doubt) goofy singer, I totally give up. The drummer keeps time like a Buddhist monk (new age joke – see, time doesn’t exist to them).
Ha! There’s even a D-punk song on this beehive of shit. Apparently they are punk-inspired death metal from WAY underground. Haven’t we all had enough of these, already?
1 out of 10.
